Dear leaders of the Alberta and Canadian Government:

I have recently learned about the scale of the environmental devastation caused by tar sands development in northern Alberta. Alberta used to be known as a place of expansive nature, snow-capped mountains and pristine beauty. Unfortunately, the tar sands developments are changing all of that.

I come to Alberta to see the wild: beautiful intact forests, clear running streams and rivers, and clean mountain air. I come to savour Alberta's cities, to experience the peace and tranquility of its prairies, the adventures that await me in the mountains, and an environment full of family fun. But the development of the tar sands is changing Alberta for the worse. Please put the brakes on the tar sands before we lose everything that I come to Alberta for.
